Our Back-to-School Update is Now Open!Westside Community Schools has opened the annual Back-to-School Update for students in all grades. Details are included below. Keeping your child’s information updated is critical. This information allows schools to keep parents informed, to notify them about student health concerns, and to reach emergency contacts if parents are unavailable.
What is the Back-to-School Update?
Most forms previously filled out at the beginning of the year are now online. With the Back-to-School Update, parents only need to submit their name, address, and phone numbers once, rather than writing them on each document.
How do I complete the Back-to-School Update?
The Back-to-School Update can be completed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using a computer, tablet, or smartphone browser. If you do not have internet or computer access at home, computers are available at our Welcome Center at the ABC Building, which is located at 909 South 76th Street and open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Why is the Back-to-School Update online?
Completing the Back-to-School Update is more convenient for parents and eliminates errors that can occur when manually transferring data from written forms to a computer.
What is the deadline for completing this process?
The first day of school. For student safety, we need updated information on every child on Day One. Parents must complete the Back-to-School Update before students will be allowed to access or check out district technology resources – including laptops and iPads.
How do I log in and complete the Back-to-School Update?
Simply log into PowerSchool (powerschool.westside66.org), using your parent login information, and click on the Back-to-School Update link in the lower left-hand corner of the page.
What if I have more than one child in school?
You will need to complete the Back-to-School Update for each K-12 child attending Westside Community Schools.
What if this is my family's first year in the District and I don’t have a PowerSchool account?
Parents of kindergartners who do not have older siblings in the District and those who are new to the District will receive a separate email containing login information and instructions for their new PowerSchool accounts.
